Confused…

I started working at a daycare/nursery in April and during my time there i noticed some toxic behavior between the staff. Front desk lady was always talking about the substitute teachers and you could just tell she didnt really like anyone but the boss. The structure of the day was pretty reasonable but the children needed better attention (we had some autistic kids/kids with adhd) but no teachers specialized in autistic behaviors so they had to conform to other childrens’ behavior. This made me sad as they often cried. I only worked there part-time. it was the best and strangest time of my life to say the least. Within my last month working there a teacher was caught bringing drugs into the “school”/daycare and one of the children found it (pills). The other teachers would tell me about how horrible this teacher was and they dont want her returning here and advised me to work somewhere else due to the issues with management. Ive only interacted with that teacher once before all this and could pick up that she was a MESS. I wouldnt feel comfortable working with her if she returned. Theres so much more to the story but throughout all this I needed a mental health day and due to a no call no show they said i didnt have to come in the next day. They never formally fired me and since then (2-3 wks ago) i havent checked up on them. My little brother attends this school and my mom picks him up. They gave my checks to my mother instead of having me come pick them up which i feel violated my privacy because I am an adult and an employee. Turns out I do need to contact them about my state of employment and get a letter but im not sure how to feel about all of this:……
