Parents Talking About Their Own Child Behind Her Back.

Two days ago, my mom had some people over at our house. Eventually, nearly everyone left except for this one family we are close to. This family has a daughter that is one of my childhood friends, but she wasn’t there, it was just her mom, her dad, and her sister in law (and her toddler niece who I was playing with). And I could overhear in the other room them talking about her behind her back. Apparently, she was moving in with someone who used to study with Jehovah’s Witnesses, but is inactive now (their big detail that proved how bad this person was is that she had tattoos. As if that isn’t an arbitrary rule that will probably be changed soon). She also hasn’t been going to as many meetings as before. But the way they were talking about her, you’d think she was leaving the organization. I got so angry. Even parental and family love is completely conditional in this cult.
