Luck be a Lady
We’re on the subway, enroute to my company. Dot will come up to meet everyone.
The train isn’t terribly crowded, but enough that we couldn’t sit together. She is across from me as we make our way downtown.
She’s so cute.
Dotty is actively, if obviously “minding her own business” which is exactly what you do in the subway. There are a couple of interesting characters about; one guy is singing “Luck be a Lady” only he clearly doesn’t know the words. I gave her a quick smile to assure her that he’s harmless.
Still, I can see her tension. She dislikes the subway; she’s made that clear.
I just find it fascinating that none of these people realize that she is the kindest and most wonderful woman they’ve never met. If they only knew.
But I know. And that makes me feel good.
