If I would have been using reddit from my teens, I too would have hated Gujaratis even though I have never met one

Almost every other post may it be sports, food, infrastructure, railway, airlines, manufacturing, business, military to even fcking dance videos, all I see is Gujjew this, Gujjew that. Gujaratis are fat, ugly and unhealthy, Gujaratis are heartless money hungry businessmen spreading Hindi imposition as if Gujarati isn't an entirety different language. Gujarat steals investments as if their piss poor states have done anything to attract investors.

I'll be really honest, the hate against Gujaratis is reaching to Nazi-jew hatred in online circles, especially here in reddit. Like fck I'm not even a Gujarati nor have I ever met one in my life, the closest would be Baniyas and Marwaris from Rajasthan. I just don't understand this hate at all. At first I simply ignored it as it's none of my business but soon it became irritating and annoying. Almost every slightly political and even apolitical posts will have loads of people hating on Gujaratis for no reason other than political reasons.

If I were an adolescent teen using reddit without any oversight and knowledge of the political scenario and history of the country, I too would have loathed Gujaratis to damnation.

This entire thing felt annoying at first, then to gross disgust and now worry for Gujaratis as they are being villanised to new lows almost everyday. Stay safe out there people 🙏🏻
