After 20 hours I see what makes Dying Light so special

:DL1: Dying Light

I have around 30 hours in Dying Light 2 and 20 in Dying Light. I started Dying Light after 2. You’ll see my last post was asking for help because I couldn’t kill shit. I received a lot of great feedback and suggestions which helped a lot. This community is almost as awesome as the games!

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say that Dying Light is akin to Diablo 2 in its perfection. A game that kind of fell into awesomeness and grew beyond a cult classic. Like Diablo 3, Dying Light 2 is a great game but misses the spark that the first game had. No game is “perfect” but I’d say Dying Light is pretty damn close.

That said, there is something that Dying Light 2 has that I think elevates it in a certain way. No, not the parkour, which is so much fun it’s insane. What I am talking about is the feeling you get jumping inside of a building through a window in the daytime to find a bunch of zombies hunched over like fentanyl addicts. It makes the world feel bigger and deeper in a way that Dying Light doesn’t capture. Don’t get me wrong, I get why people prefer Harran, it’s taken me a while but I get it! I just think the way Dying Light 2 built the world feels deeper, like each building has secrets to hide.

At the end of the day, I think both of these games are incredible and I truly couldn’t decide which one is my favorite. I am so hyped for the Beast which looks to be a combination of both games. I feel like such a fool for just now starting to play this franchise.

Thanks again for help so far folks, yall rock!
