To be clear I'm referring to taking the lore seriously, treating it as a puzzle to be collectively solved, and going out and debating it; there's absolutely nothing wrong with casually talking about what you think the lore is.

To get an idea of why I say this I invite you to think about what you believe the lore is, discard what is blatantly obvious, and then look at what is left and ask yourself how many individual ideas you have are based on evidence that amounts to grasping at straws and or could be taken in a different and also plausible direction, then question how many other concepts you have are informed by said ideas. The bit about grasping at straws will be obvious but let me give an example of the second bit.

The question of what admin control is and does is a commonly debated topic, as far as I am aware the two main schools of thought are that it either only does what we explicitly see it do in the show or that it amounts to near total control given what it does on irl computers, as a tech nerd I am inclined to believe the latter. The common rebuttal to this from the first camp is that drone OS is or could be different from normal operating systems so that isn't true, the thing about this statement is that its impossible to definitively prove or disprove it due to the lack of information regarding it; meaning that unless we get new content that covers it the debate will be an indefinite stalemate. The vast majority of the lore that doesn't fall into the blatantly obvious category is like this.

The lore is less something to be understood and more something to have a collection of grounded head canons about.

Let's be honest with ourselves
