Candles

SpoilerSPOILERS RG

I am nearing the end of Reaper's Gale and just reached the moment where Beak sacrificed himself to save everyone and was then reunited with his brother beyond hood's gate. I am not okay.

Earlier in my readthrough, I was going to make a post about Beak but I was not allowed to include his name in the post title (Anybody know why?) and so I decided to just not post. In it, I had simply planned to say that I loved him and that if anything happended to him I would go scorched earth.

I don't know why this one hit me so hard. We didn't even really get a lot of time with him. But he was just so pure. His life was incredibly tragic and depressing. But somehow, he managed to stay good. I may be mistaken, but he might be the only purely good character we've come across in this series so far. Everyone else falls into more of a gray area or is just downright terrible. He just wanted to have friends and protect those friends.

RIP Beak. You were the best. I hope you find nothing but peace and happiness beyond Hood's Gate.
