Senses in RP

Since I found this subreddit I've done a lot more AP/RP than before, thanks to you beautiful people. Still not a ton, and I'm hardly a professional, but I've noticed that scent seems to be a neglected sense in roleplay. I'm not talking about scent-specific kinks here, just including that as a facet of what we're playing.

When playing, my goal is to try to develop a sense-rounded experience for us, and it feels like smell rarely makes an appearance in most of the play sessions I've had.

Am I the odd perv out for including smells, or have I just happened upon people who don't include it?
