When do colleges receive your results?

Just wondering if anybody has any idea when colleges receive your results. I've looked online and can't find an answer but im wondering if it's possible they have our results already.

I hold an offer from Cambridge and received a call from my college this afternoon asking me to attend a results day celebration. Nobody else I know received this call.

I'm wanting to take this as a positive sign but I dont want to get my hopes up as I think its a bit too early for them to have my results right now, and maybe they've just invited Oxbridge offer holders to this celebration?

However I think it would be odd to invite us not knowing if we got in or not. I want to accept, but what happens if on the day I dont get in? There wouldn't be a reason for me to attend.

I had a similar situation in high school where they asked around 10-15 of us to come in earlier to open our results, this was because we had all achieved the highest grades so maybe this is a similar situation? However I dont want to get my hopes up.

Any advice? Could this mean my college have confirmation I've done well, or could this just be them inviting Oxbridge offer holders in hopes that we got in.
