This show is terrible, but the last few episodes are better than we are acknowledging.

Because of streaming issues, I am only just now watching the last three episodes. I’m on the break up ep currently. I love this sub and all the insight from fellow SATC fans. I expected to hate watch, but I actually think these eps were pretty good?

There’s a lot of nuance to Carrie and Aiden’s break up. Yes, she’s over it, but you can see it’s a real loss. She almost starts to cry when she says “I’m sad, too”. She is resolute and correct, it’s like she can’t let herself be sad or she’ll just get sucked back into things. Also, Aiden sucks but is not as bad as we are all making him out to be.

Related, yes Herbert should be in charge of his own diet, but he and LTW clearly had an agreed upon balance in their relationship that she is now reneging on because of her interest in her work partner and feeling unmoored.

Charlotte’s vertigo was very slapstick, but I thought it was a really sweet callback to food poisoning when Harry said “well neither of us can really walk but I’m here for you”

I also thought Miranda’s “alcoholish” storyline was handled well. Carrie and Charlotte were both pretty honest with her. Carrie, self-centered Carrie, was like I’m not sure you can re-write being an alcoholic.

Anyway, just my 2 cents. I wouldn’t have been sad about this show being cancelled until I watched the last few eps. What a wasted opportunity when they were getting close to hitting their stride with our beloved characters.
