Tried to Get a Birth Certificate in India Today… Might Just Time Travel Instead

Story Time :tea:

So, today I thought I’d do something simple — just get my birth certificate made. You know, the thing that proves I even exist on this planet? Yeah, that.

But nope. The Indian government said, “You want proof you were born? Cool, now go collect signatures from every government official who’s even vaguely heard of you.” Starting from the local ward office to the mysterious SDM, everyone needs to put their holy signature and stamp.

And after running around, waiting in 4 different lines, getting one guy’s chai order right just so he’d look at my form (notry actually)… guess what? Still no result. Just me, my sweaty forehead, and a new appreciation for how hard it is to be officially born in this country.

Honestly, at this point, getting a gun license might be easier. At least there you know the paperwork is deadly serious.

But here’s the kicker — how the heck do some illegal immigrants magically manage to get all these documents so easily? Like… who is their agent? I need their number.

Meanwhile, us “normal” Indian citizens are out here doing darshan of 10 different offices like it’s some holy pilgrimage. 🙃

Anyway, that’s my rant. Birth certificate mission: FAILED (for now). If I don’t show up tomorrow, assume I’ve gone to the quantum realm to witness my own birth and grab the certificate myself.
