ADHD linked to sex drive? I HATE it
First off, this post is in no way intended to glorify what I am about to discuss. If anything, it is quite the opposite.
To start off with , I am a 40M (so calm down). I suppose I'm not old, but I'm definitely not young. I have, since early childhood, always displayed very clear signs of ADHD. I am the poster child for basically every single symptom of ADHD without exception. Over the course of my adult life I have really improved on my ability to manage the ocean of symptoms, but its still a struggle and likely always will be. Adderall and therapy for symptom management has helped a TON.
As for the topic at hand, which I know is provacative. I have always been more sexual than most. When I was a teenager and in my 20's, sex was something I was pre-occupied with frequently, but chalked it up to being a young guy. I assumed, like most men (while remaining a present aspect in my life) the drive would die down significantly as I got older. Welp, I'm 40 years old and it is very commonly at the forefront of my mind. I fucking hate it. It's not that I don't enjoy the activity, its the lack of control in how much my mind thinks about it.
I am the Okest looking guy, but I have always stayed healthy and active. I do commonly get mistaken for looking 10+ years younger. I am only mentioning that as I wonder if remaining more physically healthy has kept up this drive?
All I know is I can't stand how often I think about sex at this age. I get angry at myself if I catch myself checking out the new girl at work, just for example. That's not cool behavior. I NEVER say anything, because I have developed some self control, but I can't stand my brain even goes there.
I did find this study, which might tell me something:

I just don't know what do make of it or what to do about it, but I wish I could stop it.
