[COD] Why do some people consider Call of Duty games to be among the best games of all time?
I've always seen the franchise as being the pinnacle of slop, the most aggressively 5/10 video games you could possibly imagine. Call of Duty is a product through and through, it exists only to print money, primarily through predatory microtransactions.
The writing is juvenile, the characters are shallow, the art direction and soundtrack are as generic as they come. There's nothing meaningful going on here in my opinion.
Apparently, some people actually really love these games, though. Why? What makes people consider stuff like Black Ops 2 and Modern Warfare 2 to be among the best games of all time?
