How safe it is to unlock a switch?

I have a switch and I dont know what I should know, like the version for example. I have some games in my normal switch, can I download them in my brother's switch and then unlock it? Is it risky to get banned from things like online or using the internet? What is the best tutorial on how to unlock the switch? Can I install in it other emulators like mGBA, citra, etc? Thanks in advance
