Why Doesn’t the 2023 Genesis G80 Have Walk-Away Auto Lock?

It blows my mind that the 2023 Genesis G80 doesn’t come with a walk-away auto-lock feature.

We’re talking about a car that has ambient lighting, lane keep assist, and enough sensors to practically drive itself but it can’t lock the doors when I walk away? I genuinely thought this was standard on most modern vehicles at this price point.

Meanwhile, my friend drives a Tesla Model Y and doesn’t even think about locking my car. He just walks into the store during a quick grocery run and the car locks itself automatically without a second thought. I need to take care of this part with the app.

It’s 2025. For a car in this price bracket, this should be a standard feature — not something you realize is missing after buying the car.

Anyone else find this irritating or am I just expecting too much from a luxury brand?
