Question about lunch time and structure/ Ontario

ECE professionals only - Feedback wanted

Okay so I work as a ECA at a day care rn and ive just bene questioning this one thing. So during lunch or snack, whenever the kids have yogurt they are served it on a paper towel with no spoon.. like the yogurt seeps through the paper towel and they end up playing in the yogurt because they are 2 and 3 years old and it creates a huge mess. Is this like not unsanitary?? I’ve mentioned it to the RECE and she just kinda shrugs her shoulders and doesn’t say anything.

Also one more thing to add, this centre has like no structure. Besides the snacks, lunch, outside time and nap time there is no real structure. Like I’m breaking up fights half the day and watching the kids just run around the room wild, they don’t listen to me and haven’t from day one (I’ve been here just over a month) im in Ontario so it’s the how does learning happen philosophy and the kids get like 3 hours of free time plus 2 hours outside. And since I’m not the ECE I don’t do the prorgram planning so I just have to go along with whatever we are doing. There are some days where they will do some painting or activity in the morning bits that’s it. Theres no circle time or reading stories at all throughout the day. I feel like 3-4 year olds need structure and planned activities throughout the day or else they get wild and start acting up.

One of the many reasons I’m leaving this centre 😅
