Large houseplants as deck plants

Howdy. I've gotten into houseplants and don't have room in the main living areas of the house for some of those beautiful larger plants like bird of paradise, monstera, philodendron Xanadu ... you can see I've been thinking about this 😄

But we're having a deck built and I thought I could use those big boys out there and then drag them into the finished basement for the winter with grow lights.

Does anybody else do this and what does it look like for you? Typically until now my gardening experience with tropicals has been as annuals that I just replace every year.
