Can I give my 1st sem er in 5th sem ? Confused & really need help 😭

Hi everyone. I’m a BA Programme student at Delhi University.

I got an ER (Essential Repeat) in my 1st semester Hindi GE paper. I didn't submit my internal assessments and later failed in theory as well. I tried appearing for the theory exam again in 3rd semester, thinking I’d score better, but I wasn’t able to pass.

Now I’ve entered my 5th semester and I really want to clear this backlog completely — both theory and internal. I spoke to my college admin earlier and they casually said, “agle sem deh dena,” so I’m hoping I can appear now in 5th sem. But I’ve read so many mixed things online and seen some scary posts — now I’m totally confused and anxious.

Can anyone confirm if it’s actually possible to give a 1st semester ER paper in 5th sem? Do I have to do something special to get internal marks uploaded too? Has anyone else cleared their 1st sem backlog in 5th?

Please help if you’ve been through something similar. I’d be really thankful for any guidance 🙏
