If you believe in God
So if you’re a Christian or a catholic, you understand how our relationship with God works, he loves us unconditionally but it breaks his heart when we sin, after going to confession so many times confessing the same sin of watching porn and masturbating I prayed for more willpower every time I got done watching porn, reminded myself God forgives me. Well one day I had the urge once again and for some reason right before I started doing the deed I hesitated, I paused, the thought “it breaks my heart” just kept repeating in my head. I understood how God intended us to use our sexual urges not as self pleasure and out of lust but out of love and union with your spouse, I wrestled with it for a few minutes that felt like eternity. I tried to justify reasons for doing it but then I thought of God as someone who truly cares about me, my dignity, the sacredness of my soul and body, and as strong and powerful as that urge was I forced myself to put down my phone, pull up my pants and pray and thank God for giving me the willpower and grace to stop what I was gonna do. After that one act of self restraint it’s gotten easier and easier to resist every time. Don’t get me wrong it’s very hard when the physical urge to masturbated comes and sometimes I come extremely close to it. Every time it comes near that I pray, and if it’s just a thought to masturbate I reject renounce and rebuke it. So for those who believe in Jesus and the Father and the Holy Spirit pray! It’s sounds impossible that it works but when you do have the urge force yourself to really meditate on Jesus’ life even he was faced with temptation, but also meditate on his sacrifice. I promise you that first time you’re able to stop yourself by thinking about how it breaks God’s heart it gets so much easier and you have that much more motivation to stop. Also think of the Virgin Mary your heavenly mother. View that women you were gonna watch with the same respect as you do her, not an object of lust but as a child of God. It may not work immediately but it’s a step forward each time, and don’t tear yourself down when you do it, thank God that each time you do it you feel guilty and ask him to forgive you and ask for his help next time the urge arises, to strengthen your will and grant you the virtue and grace to resist. God bless!
