Financial Aid Probation
Hi everyone. I just want to put a warning out to everyone who has had to withdraw from entire semesters in the past. I personally had to withdraw from 2 semesters a few years ago due to mental illness and medical problems. Today, I received a financial aid probation, which I didn’t know existed, so I’m not qualified for financial aid (unless I get my appeal approved). I have an okay GPA and I have completed ~75% of my attempted classes, but due to attempting too many courses (which I didn’t know was possible), I cannot get financial aid. I’m literally an orphan and I rely on my refunds to pay my bills currently since I don’t make enough to cover them by working in my lab (I work there full-time btw). If I don’t get the appeal, I won’t be able to get my Bachelor’s for a while, even though I just need two more classes to graduate. I’ll figure it out when the time comes, and it’s my fault for not knowing this, but it’s so unfortunate and makes me feel desperate 😭 Anyways, please learn from my mistakes, and if anyone has advice, I’d love to hear it.
