Ghost fuel pump problem

2003 mk4 golf vr6 180k miles

I was running lean, then I went crank no start. I start on starting fluid so it’s my fuel. I started diagnosing fuel issues, checked my fuses , my 409 relay clicks, but my fuel pump wasn’t making any noise when I give it power. So I thought it was a fuel pump, I buy a fuel pump, no start .-. It’s still not whirring. What the fuck.
