Need experience for entry level?
I just walked across that stage, cap and gown, feeling like a million bucks. Now? I'm staring at job descriptions that make absolutely zero sense. Every single 'entry-level' position I find asks for 3-5 years of experience. Seriously? How am I supposed to get experience if no one will give me a chance to get experience? My resume is polished, I've got a decent GPA, I even did an internship, but it feels like it’s never enough. I've spent so many late nights hunched over my laptop, fueled by lukewarm coffee, customizing cover letters that probably just get filtered out by a bot anyway. The silence from HR departments is deafening. Every 'no calls back' feels like a punch to the gut. It's like I'm stuck in this absurd Catch-22.
Then I tried Gradxiety.com’s quick exercise and it actually helped. For the first time in weeks, I felt like I could breathe. It helped me focus on the skills I do have and how to spin them, rather than just staring blankly at the 'experience required' line. I felt less paralyzed by my inbox and more like I actually had a strategy.
Seriously, how do you even get your foot in the door when every 'entry-level' job demands a seasoned pro? Any tips for breaking into the 'experience required' club when you're fresh out?
