"but your favs said bts paved the way"

has anyone else been victim to this terrible argument? there have been several idols who have said something along the lines of "bts paved the way." good for them, they're entitled to their opinion. it's when armys think that my favs' opinions should factor into my own opinion of bts that i get pissed off.

i don't argue with armys much anymore but i used to, and one thing they always said was "your fav said bts paved. listen to your leader"... MY leader? they're leader of their group, not the whole fandom. i have no ties to this person or group at all, and i don't have to think bts paved the way just because an idol i like said so.

unlike a ton of armys, im not in a cult where i listen to everything my favs say and treat it like the ultimate truth of the universe.

this argument is obnoxious. if i say I dont think bts paved, a screenshot or clip of an idol i like saying bts paved the way isn't going to sway my opinion that they didn't. "but your idol said so!" and i don't care. they can think whatever they want, but i don't have to agree with it just bc i like them and their music.

if these random idols' opinions about bts paving matter so much, what about when suga said bigbang practically made bts? suddenly he's just being humble, right? he's just sooo shy and humble about his success.. (/s)

armys, please stop using this argument. you look stupid and more cultish than you think.
