Crazy plan to buy an R1T in 2027?

Am I crazy or does this plan make sense? I currently drive a 2014 BMW X3 35i x drive (Msport) that I have had for about 4 years. I got an extended warranty and boy am I glad I did! When the warranty is up in about 2 years (2027) I plan to sell it and get something else. I was originally thinking of a Honda Ridgeline but a Rivian R1T seems to check all the Ridgeline boxes and more! This would be my first electric vehicle. I'm thinking I could get a first generation R1T quad motor for around $45k at that time. Maybe less if the R2s drive down demand for used R1 vehicles? The more I think about it, the more that becomes a really tempting thought. I want more utility and I'm an auto enthusiast at heart and appreciate performance and a fun driving experience. I've been lurking here for a while, but I would love to hear your thoughts. What problems should I expect or look for? Should I look into an extended warranty? Does waiting make sense? I am very open to your feedback. Thanks!
