Duke Sucellus

I just finished DT2 and went to try some duke. I brought my arc light (don’t have emberlight yet). When I try to spec it for defense reduction these black tentacles surround me and cancel my attack, or at least appears to, and drains my special energy. Bandos works so I figured this would too. I can’t find anything on wiki. Anyone have any input here? Thanks!
