Staying single and celibate to pursue my dream of being a meteorologist?

I’m a single guy in my 20s. I’m going back to college to pursue my dream of being a meteorologist. I want to be a warning coordination meteorologist at the National Weather Service.

I’m attracted to women but see having a girlfriend or dates as being a distraction and a stumbling block to my meteorology dreams. What do you think? Should I stay single and celibate for life so that I can put all energy and time into being a meteorologist? Would I regret it later? Or is it a good choice?
