Design me a curriculum

I’m brand new to knitting and my goal is to knit a color work sweater like the Halibut sweater by Caitlin Hunter (just an example, I’m not stuck on this pattern only). How would you design a curriculum to learn the skills to knit something like that? I have a beginner background in both crochet and sewing but I am still learning the complete basics of knitting.
