Dishonesty of MusoSoup Curators And Other Playlist Pitching Services - Are they worth it?

I'm a new artist, releasing my first album in the next week. I've been looking at this subreddit for how to get my name out there, and I've seen multiple people mention sites like musosoup, groover, and submithub. I tried groover, and get canned ChatGPT responses as feedback. I'm considering musosoup, but i'm skeptical.

For context, my album is privately listed on Soundcloud. I get all these responses saying they love my album, it's the greatest, they want to do stories about it, but on my Soundcloud I see there is a singular person who actually clicked beyond track 1. There's only plays on my first track. So they're all lying and they're getting money from people for it. They think I won't notice they haven't actually listened to my album? It turns me away from using the service at all, but I wanted to know what people's experiences have been for it.

Would Meta ads be the better way to do this?
