Marriage-Based I-130 & I-485 Interview Today at Troy, MI Field Office – Quick Recap & Question for Others

I-130 & I-485 (Family/Adjustment of status)

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share my experience and ask if anyone here went through interview at the Troy, Michigan field office.

My spouse and I had our marriage-based I-130 and I-485 interview today. The officer was polite and professional. The interview felt pretty smooth overall. She asked a few basic relationship questions – how we met, where we met, how long we’ve been together, etc.

Then she went through a bunch of yes/no questions from the I-485 form, skimmed through the documents we brought (marriage certificate, joint bank account, photos, etc.), and at the end, she just said, “It’s in review, you’ll see updates on your USCIS account.” No approval on the spot or anything, just that. She also updated our employment records.

Now we’re back home wondering how long it usually takes to hear back. 🥲

So I’m curious – 👉 Has anyone else here had their interview at the Troy, MI field office recently? 👉 How long did it take for you to get an update or decision after your interview? 👉 And did anyone get approved on the spot or was it a similar “we’ll review and update your account” type of ending?

Appreciate any insight or shared experiences! Wishing everyone the best with their journey. 🙏
