Leon theory

For someone with his power, fan girling and contacts, wouldn’t it be possible that Leon has put together that whoever the bay harbour butcher “is/was”, might have been targeting bad guys/serial killers?

Of course we are led to believe if Leon knew who Dexter really was, he would kill Dex asap but wouldn’t it kind of make sense for sicko Leon to admire him, as the killer of killers, the ultimate predator?
