Do all teachers have to choose the WORST summer reading as a rule?

I’m doing my summer reading since school is coming up, and all I have left is Le Morte D’Arthur. TLDR, I’m only 48 pages in and it is absolute ASS. It feels like reading the Bible, but even the Bible is engaging and doesn’t feel like I’m trying to walk through knee deep mud.
