Shit, r/mlb sucks on posting videos
OK, yesterday, for the second time in a week, I use the "Link" tab at top, post a link to an ESPN video, and it gets immediately hauled down by r/mlb mods. WHY, I don't know; I can do that easily on r/cardinals. So, it's some default not allowed.
So, after this message from mods:
It has to be submitted as a video post, linking a website for a highlight won’t do it.
Off to the "images and videos" tab.
I try what I think I'm supposed to do according to this, use the "Images and videos" tab and post the link. Nope. You must post an actual video that I guess you're supposed to download first. WHY?
So, then, I try the "text" tab, and post. And, get an immediate hauldown with a what the fuck automoderator comment:
Thank you for posting on our subreddit! Unfortunately, your post has been removed because Autograph-related content is not allowed in our community. If you need help identifying an autograph of a baseball or a piece of memorabilia, please post it in r/AutographAssistance.
To which I responded:
It's an ESPN video link, not an "autograph." Shit, off to share this on my own Reddit then blog about it.
I've also, per the exchange about the original hauldown, messaged the mods:
I can do this on r/cardinals no problem. No idea why it's not allowed here. But, clearly, it's not allowed. Respectfully suggest you change that.
Will they change this? Probably not. Perhaps some anal-retentive stance is behind that.
God I hate r/mlb at times, and if it goes further down roads like this and like r/baseball type "seriousness" as well as this type of tech craptacularness, it's closer and closer to time to move on.
