Using smart watch as car tracker?

Hi y'all,

Just bought a new used car!.

Car has gps and lte but needs subscriptions to locate the car on the app.

Looked into dedicated trackers but those also require subscription.

My phone plan (google fi) come with free smart watch connectivity.

Thinking of just getting a smart watch, permanently attach that to the charger and plug into the car for power. And I can then use Find My Device to locate the car.

Battery drain should be minimal.

Alternatively, I couls get a and phone and a cheap data only plan, but that is not as easy to hide as a watch without bracelet.

Curious if anyone tried this?
