Pain near base of penis when lying down.

NSFW

31M, healthy. This started a month ago. I masturbated and edged for an hour. The following night, I felt an aching discomfort near the base of my penis, like on the side of my erectile tissue behind my testicles. It was mild, so I slept through it. The same thing happened the next two nights. This discomfort only occurred when I lied down to go to bed. I felt around the area and it felt like my internal erectile tissue was swollen (perineum and root, but not the shaft). I applied pressure to the swollen areas and they went down, but the discomfort was significant while I tried to sleep. I went to my doctor and pointed out where the pain is, and he thought it was epididymitis and prescribed antibiotics. After 10 days there was no improvement and I called my doctor back. He just said to take naproxen. I'm worried that my erectile tissue is damaged, but I'm still able to get erections without pain. The discomfort sometimes occurs when sitting or standing, but mostly while lying down. If I get this checked out further, will they even be able to do anything to treat it, or just tell me not to masturbate? If its the latter, I'd rather avoid further embarrassment and keep it to myself.
