No idea where to start
My call center QA job was recently eliminated. I have only 2 weeks to find a new job and I’m so lost.
I made a lot of poor choices when I was younger when it came to education due to past trauma and indecision. Now that I’m in my early 30s, a wife and mother, I’m struggling to find my next path. I haven’t been without a job or left a job without it being my choice in all the years I have worked.
Unfortunately, my only real job experience is at my current company. I started on the floor, moved to training, and then into quality. I lucked out, truly. I was work from home, made decent money, had flexible hours, and little overhead.
Before that, 7 years at Amazon. That’s basically my adult career.
Outside of that, everyone asks me what I want to do and I have zero clue. My hobbies are reading and being a mom🤷🏼♀️ I like people but only on my terms. I loved my job as a trainer but again…no formal education just experience.
But now, I’m so overwhelmed and lost. I have very niche skills, no actual education, and want to build a career. Preferably one where I can build, and eventually not relay on someone else. I am fortunate that my job gave me several weeks notice and the ability to stay at the company in a different role with a probable pay cut. But I don’t want to stay terribly long.
Everything I can read says go tech or basically health care but with the current economy, AI, and all the things, those don’t even feel super safe either. I have no idea where to even start.
This is a wild goose chase, but I thought I’d ask some advice here. Anyone have any advice!?
