Steam gift card

Hey everyone, it's my boyfriend's birthday soon and he's a huge CS fan. I'm looking into getting him a Steam gift card but I have no idea on the amount I should get him so he would be able to buy himself something nice but still not be super expensive. What is the best amount in USD for a Steam gift card?
