Rush Fee Rant

My idiot coworkers won’t charge customers the rush fee… I get it, it’s a bogus fee and there’s no incentive for employees to charge (especially after Evil, Inc. screwed us out of our PMS bonuses…)

Anyway, they won’t charge the rush fee but they always complain (ie b*tch) about how busy Amazon returns makes us… totally clueless that the rush fee is a deterrent from having everyone wanting their jobs done “right now”…

So last night I get an entitled customer wanting a bunch of stuff printed at 8:30p, I tell him that it’s going to take longer than 30 minutes, but it will be ready first thing tomorrow, since the store closes at 9pm. Customer questions why I’m charging him the rush fee, because you “need it first thing tomorrow” (his words) and I’m going to start it this evening and that any time before 1pm tomorrow would include the rush fee…

“Well, I’m not paying it, they didn’t charge me a rush fee yesterday when I came in and I got my prints done right then. Put the order for tomorrow afternoon and I’ll come by in the morning to have them do it right then…”

I’m not the print supervisor or production lead, but what’s the point in coming to work everyday if you’re actively going to make a concerted effort to NOT do the job like you’re supposed to.

Anyway thanks for listening to my rant, just had to get it off my chest…
