What's your style of RP?

How do you guys differentiate between speech and action? For speech, do you prefer the use of "quotation marks" or none? For action, do you like italics, bold, -dashes-, regular, or something else entirely? Do you type in the first or third person for your persona? Do you refer to the character you're talking to in the second or third person? Does your action look more like: nods or I/he/she/they nod(s).?

Personally, I like no quotation marks for speech and italics for action. I type in the first person for my persona and prefer to refer to the character I'm talking to in the second person, though I'll use the third person if the bot defaults to that. My action looks like: I nod.

Altogether, my RP style looks something like this, as an example:

Hm? I look up from the book I'm reading when I hear your voice, and I meet your gaze. What was that?
