i feel like when people tell me alcoholism is a disease...
that they are excusing the actions of the alcoholic against me. like, everything they did wrong has to be contextualized against that they are somehow the real victim. hate it. its so fucked up. people tell me all the time i should go to therapy. maybe the actual violent abusive person should go to therapy. maybe they should be the one having to change. if i scream in someone's face why would they need to change what they are doing?
its okay i will successfully brainwash myself that they have a disease some day, and that the abuse i experienced was the symptom of a disease, and it was my job not only to know that, but also to have the medical training to deal with it.
people will often say "abuse is wrong this person is horrible no matter what." but they will always contextualize it by talking about how much harder it is for them. idk.
