AITAH for being too physically close to my boyfriend in a spa pool?
I (f41) took my partner (m40) away for a weekend at a super expensive spa for his 40th birthday. We are a very affectionate couple and we kiss and cuddle often.
We went into an area of the spa called the “candle pool” - a silent pool area, kind of underground in a cave type environment with fairly secluded alcoves around different corners. It has low lighting from led candles and you’re meant to be silent. Probably 6 alcoves in total and most of them face in different directions so it’s quite hard to be in someone’s direct eye line. The “seating” is such that you lie/float on a stone surface with your head back and look at the ceiling fairy lights. My partner and I were cuddling - I had my leg over one of his legs mostly because I kept floating off, and we had a few kisses. We had a very quick French kiss but mostly I was hugging his head to my neck.
We weren’t making any noises or talking and our hands were not all over each other or anything.
Suddenly we heard someone talking loudly and it took us a while to realize a lady (probably in her 40s or 50s) was addressing us quite sternly: “Do you think you could do that somewhere else? Some of us have spent a lot of money to be here and want to relax”
This really took me my surprise the level of contempt in the woman’s tone and the fact is kissing was so offensive to her. My partner said that there was nothing sexual about our kissing and neither of us were aroused or trying to arouse, it was just a moment of closeness and affection because we are so in love.
I do agree with him, but I think we / I might still be the asshol l so bad?
