Regarding Msc in cybersecurity Ireland and job prospects after graduation.
Hello friends, I am an international student from Nepal and want to study Msc in cybersecurity at MTU as the course cirriculum exactly aligns with my interest. My question is how is the university in terms of employability and industry connection? How is the job market in cybersecurity after masters?. What is the availability of part time jobs in cork? Why is MTU ranked low despite having solid course cirriculum and will it have any negative affect on employers regarding the prestige of the university?
My Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Computing with Upper Second Class Honours(London Met affiliated degree in Nepal itself)
- 3 years experience as part of Synack Red Team(SRT). This is as an individual contractor performing assessments on web app and network infrastructure.
- A freelance incident response experience for a company identifying attcker's TTP, dissecting their malware sample, identifying command and control server, implementing security fixes and further digging into their cybercrime operations.
- I also hold certifications including OSCP, CRTP, CRTO, CDSA, BTL1, CPTS
- Haven been a ctf player since high school and was ranked in Top 100 back in 2020 Hackthebox hall of fame.
We don't have much or any opportunity regarding cybersecurity in my country and every remote job I apply to requires some level of security clearance or can only be gotten into through referrals and so many talented individuals are having to leave the country. I cannot sustain myself doing bug bounties and freelance for much long. I can do both offensive as well as defensive security including incident response, reverse engineering, Host and Web assessments although most of these are from self learning, ctf, projects and certifications.
