To be completely honest, I don't think anyone has to care when a k-pop idol gets hate. People have lives they need to take care of, and at the end of the day, k-pop is just a hobby and I only enjoy it when I'm in the mood to do so. I ignore most online chatter, but I spend a decent amount of time on socials so sometimes I'm aware when stuff is happening, it just doesn't always pique my interest. If a group is getting ripped apart for no reason, I might not feel inclined to get involved, but I surely am not going to crash out because someone defends them.

What kind of person do you have to be to completely ignore a group, but when you see someone show even an ounce of sympathy when they're unfairly targeted, it ticks you off? It's not the "Ignore the hate" comments I'm talking about here, because on a certain level, those comments are actually helpful. It's the "sTaNs aLwAyS cOmPIAIN, dOeS aNyOnE rEaLy eVeN IIKE tHeM?"

Are you in their fan spaces? Are you following their socials? Do you watch their Music Show stages? Are you blind? Because 9 times out of 10, said group or idol is definitely appreciated, you just choose to ignore it because it's not interesting to you. Which is fine. You don't have to care about them. Plenty of other people don't, but they're not running around talking mad trash either.

It boggles my mind when someone can not care about the thousands of death threats, SA threats, slander, dehumanization, etc. that are casually thrown about every single day at random idols for the crime of breathing, but at the same time get livid over someone saying they feel bad for said idols. How is the latter more infuriating the the former to the point that you voice anger at the defense more than the dragging? Just because you block out the flowers a group gets doesn't mean that people don't care about them. Remember, there's a whole world outside what you see and a bunch of things are happening in it, including all the stuff you don't think exists.

Always someone like this
