Will car rental companies lend me a car with my UK license that I’ve only held for barely 2 months

Bangkok/Middle

Similar to an earlier post, but this one for more clarity.

As title says, I’ve only had my license for 2 months and I’m seeing on all the main rental places like sixt and enterprise that licenses must be held for at least 12 months which I clearly haven’t.

My question is what’s the likeliness that they will overlook it and give me the car anyway, or will they actually check and refuse me it. Is it an insurance thing or more a common rental policy thing? I don’t imagine it’s actually illegal and shouldn’t have a lot of trouble with police if I get stopped as I have my IDP.

As for my driving experience I’d say I’m a confident driver despite my current license duration and I’m aware I’d need to be driving a lot more defensively which I think I’ll instinctively do.

I’m mainly looking at Bangkok, but also going to Chiang Mai, Krabi and Koh Samui.
