Where to put my bones and how to clean them?

Yesterday I found an animal carcass that was pretty badly decomposed so me and a friend grabbed a couple bones from it. I put them in hot soapy water over night to degrease them and then switched out the water twice today. I currently have them soaking in a little container with the lid on because they were a little smelly.

My roommate comes back to the apartment tomorrow and I would rather not have them in here when they get back because of the smell. If I put the container with the lid on it into the garage do you think it would make the whole garage smell? It’s pretty hot in there so I don’t want it to get all smelly but I don’t have any outside space to put them.

How long should I degrease them for before switching them to hydrogen peroxide? The hydrogen peroxide would also sanitize them right? Also how long should I keep them in hydrogen peroxide and would that possibly get rid of the smell of them? If not, does anyone have any suggestions to getting rid of the smell?
