Replacing Switch from a house that was wired in the 40's
I was going to replace two lights switches in my house with some new ones that have a black switch instead of the original white ones (per the wife's request.) House is old and still have the wiring from the 40's which I think is cloth wiring. The problem is when I went to turn off the breaker. I flipped every breaker available but none of them turned off the light for the switch I need to replace. What does this mean? I'm a weekend warrior and have swapper overhead lights in the house before and even installed two ceiling fans but was able to cut power at the breakers.
