Thematic exploration: the heart and soul of your story

Discussion

Does anyone have any good story recommendations where the theme at hand is explored extremely well?

I'm trying to strengthen my understanding of themes since theyre so vital to the storytelling process. A lot of works i see fall flat because they integrate theme into the resolution of the story and maybe parts of character archs but mostly through emtpy set dressings. You really realize how bad it is when you see a story that is its' themes. I love seeing how authors integrate them so fundamentally into their works, making every character, line or scene say something to advance the ongoing thematic conversation that continues with every page, only to come to a nuance and beautifully layered answer. If you have any observations on the topic, feel free to drop them below, along with any recommendations for books, movies or shows that really shine in that area :)
