Sent over references and should I send a thank you email

I really want to leave my alphabet company clinic. Theres no fieldwork hours after I asked for it twice. The next place I found work has a fixed schedule, more support, and meetings everyday in a school environment. I really want to leave where I work. I did my interview earlier this week and references they asked for after. Should I send a thank you letter with interest?
