Is it easy to switch from Maya to Blender?
Good afternoon, I wasn’t sure if it’d be better to post this in the maya community or here in blender’s, but I’ll take my chances
I’m a student, and I know that for our final project we’ll most likely have to use maya since that’s the software we’re learning in our 3D generation classes
For now, I can use the student license, but I know it won’t last forever, at some point, I won’t have access to it anymore and would need to pay for a license, which i just can’t afford
That’s why when it comes to getting into the 3D world i’d rather go with blender, basically I’ll be using maya for university projects, but once the license runs out/ I graduate I’d like to fully transition to blender, so I don't have to keep learning software that I can't afford
I wanted to ask if anyone knows whether switching from maya to blender is fairly doable or if their learning curves are completely different
I’m aware that maya is more complex and considered the industry standard and all that, also, any advice from people who’ve been through this would be helpful :)
Thanks!
