Are people bringing their little siblings to move-in day?

I have a little sister (8 yo) who wants to come to move in day, but I want that to be the day where I introduce myself to people without her interfering, which is kind of selfish, I know ):

But my parents got super mad at me and say that other people will definitely bring their little siblings, and that I'm an a-hole for not bringing her. So for everyone moving in to dorms, are you going to bring your little siblings on move in day?
