When is the best time to bring up your kinks? First convo, first meet, or never?
Okay, we all know that sex is a vital part of any romantic relationship, and definitely the core of any fling or FWB situation you've got going on.
Vanilla sex is always fun when it's with someone new. But as things start to get stale, you're gonna need to have the kink talk with your partner. That begs the question: When's the best time to bring up kinks? Do you talk about it during the first meeting, or do you just never bring it up?
Well, for me it depends on the kind of relationship I have with someone. If I'm just seeing someone as a friend with benefits, I'm not going to tell them about my wildest kinks. If I've got something that I think is pretty tame, I'll bring it up at the 2nd or 3rd meeting because I feel like that's the sweet spot. The more hardcore stuff stays with me.
Kinks in relationships are an entirely different ballpark. If you don't talk to your partner about your kinks, you're gonna feel like your sex life is lacking, and that's gonna lead to dissatisfaction in the relationship. Again, with tame kinks, you can bring them up pretty much as soon as you start banging. But the hardcore stuff, like the things that someone might consider a dealbreaker? I'd bring that up within two months of dating. Any longer than that and you're pretty much leading someone on.
As to how to talk to your partner about kink exploration, it's best to just be honest. You can tell them that this is something that turns you on, and you'd really like to engage in it with them. Obviously, set up safe words and start slow, maybe by talking dirty about it rather than getting into the deep end. From there, you can work your way further.
This is what I tend to go by, but if you've got a better way to do it, I'd love to know about it. What's the best time to bring up kinks in your opinion?
